Immediately after completing one semester of the MTP program in Hungary, I joined a church plant in Ukraine and began life as a missionary. Boy was I unprepared… I don't think you can ever be prepared for the work of the Holy Spirit in your life as you see God move in ways you have never experienced before.

Had I not come to Hungary for the Missions Training Program before I went
to Ukraine I would have been crushed. The program helped me deal with
the transition between fast-paced America and a different life style in
Ukraine. It helped me to see what God values as compared to what I
valued. It gave me perspective and insight without which my first few
months may have been devastating.

God showed me that I was not ready to remain in Ukraine, because no
program, no matter how great it is, will prepare you for missions if your
heart is not prepared for the Holy Spirit to be in complete control. Now
back at the Bible College and ready to rely completely on the Holy Spirit,
God is able to use the programs here in truly remarkable ways as I
sit back and watch Him do the absolutely wonderful!     - Leah
